<p>Does Duke look at applications more holistically than other schools? I watched an interview with Duke’s dean of admissions and he said they rate Duke applicants on a 5 point scale in 6 different categories (rigor of high-school academic program, academic performance, letters of recommendation, extracurricular activities and personal qualities, personal statement and essay, and standardized testing), which are weighted relatively evenly. I think I am going to be very strong in 5 out of 6 of those categories.</p>
