Chance me? Emory RD 2018

<p>I sent in my application a few days ago, and I would appreciate any feedback!
I'm listing exactly what I submitted on my application, so this is what the AdCom will see.</p>

<p>Somewhat rural Tennessee high school. Looking to major in business.</p>

<p>GPA: 4.0 Unweighted (School doesn't weight)
ACT Composite score: 31
ACT Superscore: 32 English-35 Math-30 Reading-31 Science-31 Writing-7 (Terrible, I know)

<p>Senior course load is a little weak, but I've taken the absolute most rigorous schedule possible up until this year.</p>

CommonApp Essay: (8/10) College English teacher said she couldn't find a single thing to fix or change, but I still don't think it's perfect</p>

<p>Applied to University of Pennsylvania ED, but the admissions counselor was really cool. He said I wasn't getting into Wharton because I haven't taken calculus, so I self-deferred and chose Econ in CAS. He said I had a much greater chance there.</p>

<p>Accepted to University of Tennessee Chancellor's Honors program
Plus $24k in scholarships from school + $20k from State. Not a bad safety.</p>

<p>Applied WUSTL, I think there's no chance.</p>

Pretty sure I'll get accepted but it'll be an ass ton of money.</p>

<p>Longer one:
I think your ACT isn’t “terrible” it’s just not a huge selling point. To put it into perspective I applied this year and got in with a 31 ACT, but I applied ED so that for what it is. As far as the rest of your listing here, your GPA tells a lot when combined with the class rank so that’s going for you. I think your EC’s are up to par but nothing in particular stood out to me, just overall seemed solid in that regard. One thing that did concern me was your supplements, the fact you didn’t think they were creative or would stand out is kind of a shame because that’s the section where you can distinguish yourself from everyone else. As far as chances go I think it’s safe to say that there’s no way anyone here will know for sure, but I’d give you a 35-65% just because I think that Emory is going to be more selective numbers wise this year and try to play the yield vs. stats game.
