chance me? fall'' 12

i am applying as a transfer student from my commuting college. My current GPA is a 3.148 ( 1 withdrawal)
Total credit completed- 41

freshman

1st semester-2.7 (9 credits)
2nd semester - 2.5 (17 credits)

summer-4.0 (4 credits)

sophmore

1st semester- 3.280 (15 credits)

i looked up on their school's webpage for transfer admission, and it looks like 3.0 is the encouraged GPA.

higher if applying to decker for nursing or school of management. My major hasn't been set yet.

got 2 letter of recommendations, no ec or volunteer work.

what are my chances?

thank you.

quite unlikely, borders on a miracle

can i not get a vague and redundant answer.

From what I’ve seen their average gpa is about a 3.6

thats for regular admission - students who just came straight out of high school.

They anticipate for a 93.

WOW?

93%=3.7
86%=3.1

BTW, what’s a “commuting college”?

Stage4…It is quite clear that the OP means a Community College.
You seem to like to “stalk” this thread and offer no real input. Don’t you have classes to attend? These are HS students looking for some friendly help or advise and all you seem to do is answer in a negative and condescending manner. From your earlier posts, it looks like you were in the same boat posting on Bing threads and looking for answers.

Why don’t you use your energy to be helpful instead of sarcastic and correcting people’s grammar?

Reality bites. No, when pertinent, I can be very positive.
Re: commuting college could be community or COMMUTER college.
Furthermore, Sophie aptly pointed out that 3.6 is the magic number and he replies, no 93???
HELLO, does anyone see the incongruity? His 3.1 is an 86%
Do you feel it’s inappropriate to give honest appraisals or do you subscribe to “chance inflation”.
You may not agree with my tone but, I defy you to disagree with my analysis. Do you think there’s a “friendly” way to tell someone they have little to no chance, despite their GC’s, peers, etc convincing them, OH, you have a great chance?

Look, i attend a four year college that i regularly commute, not a community college. When i said 93% (3.7), i was referring to binghamton’s regular admission (specifically for entering freshmen). I am attending there as a TRANSFER, and their anticipating GPA is a 3.0. Look it up on their website instead of assuming.

also, i don’t have a problem with someone being honest, but your comments are rather offensive with no real evidences behind it.

Dee,

It is “quite clear…community college”?

kne,
3.0 is the MINIMUM suggested, research here and you’ll see it’s more in the range of 3.6.
If your commuter college is Harvard or Princeton, 3.1 will do it.
