Hello, thanks for reading. I am in the 9th grade and I am applying to several top schools in the nation, which include Exeter, Andover, Deerfield, and Groton.
My SSAT score was the 95th percentile, but it was my second attempt.

Sports: Select baseball and basketball

Classes: Honors English, honors bio, IB Calculus, Spanish, Honors World History, and Orchestra. I have all A's.

EC's: I have placed in the top 5 in MIC for the past 4 years. Perfect score in the AMC 8 in 7th and 8th grade. Member of school's DECA team. Founder and president of school's TSA club, which is a nationwide club. Volunteer occasionally at local church to feed the homeless. Played violin for 5 years.

Essays: Good

Interview: Have not completed yet

What do you think are my chances of getting into these schools?

When u fill out your application, spell out the acronyms. I have no clue what MIC AMC DECA are.

I do know what TSA is, however. They are the vile gov’t agency that frisks little old ladies in airports for being suspected terrorists.

Good luck.

MIC is a math competition that is known nationwide which stands for “Math is Cool”… a little cheesy.
AMC is another math competition which stands for “American Mathematics Competition”
DECA is a business club which helps groom future businessmen and women.
TSA is a club that stands for “Technology Student Association”, which helps future engineers and technicians.

make sure you complete a prospective athlete form sooner rather than later, it will set you apart from the other applicants. Finding smart athletic kids is easier said than done.

You are a very strong candidate. However, those schools receive a lot of “math-strong” applications, therefore emphasizing your strength in sports will definitely help you.

Update: I have put in many Prospective Athlete forms for football, baseball, and basketball. My recommendations were good.

All the schools that I applied to are Andover, Exeter, Deerfield, Groton, Thacher, St. Pauls, and Hotchkiss.

I will need some financial aid, but not a lot (~30%)

what are my chances?

Your math seems to be great, but with these schools, you can never know for sure. Andover said on their website that they rejected some science genius who built like a nuclear power system in their basement. It’s ridiculous.

Your application is excellent. Pure excellence. You’ll definitely succeed wherever you go. You seem VERY passionate about maths and technology. Make sure to emphasize that passion, whatever it may be, in your interview.
