Bard is my #1
please reply ASAP
I don’t think anyone can ‘chance you’ accurately. However, Bard is very holistic in their admissions. Why is Bard your #1 choice? If you can communicate that clearly to them in your application, that will certainly help.
Alright and thank you for replying, is there anyway else I can show Bard that they’re my #1? Also do you think I have a real chance if I clearly and concisely convey my desire and commitment towards Bard, along with what I listed above? once again thank you for replying!
Bard looks at the whole student - not just grades, and certainly not just test scores. In fact - there is the option to apply without submitting any grades or scores at all - via the essay admission route. My advice is to try to give the admissions officers a clear picture of who you are as a person and as a student, and why you feel that Bard is the right place for you.
Personally, I believe you have a good shot since Bard is a very holistic school and they really focus on the whole person.
Update( sorry I’m late)- I got rejected!
Sorry to hear that @hebz98. I hope you’ve just started, though, at a wonderful school and feel like you’ve landed in just the right place.
Its all right…havent decided if I should just reapply to schools this fall or just go to a cc for the spring semester then transfer? ( couldnt attend college for fall semester because of family problems) @SpiritManager
@hebz98 You’ll have much more luck with financial aid if you apply as a freshman to college. One semester at a Community College could make things harder for you, as you’re no longer considered an entering freshman. I believe if you go the CC route you’ll want to stay two years and then transfer as a Junior. Why don’t you apply this fall to some schools with early admission or rolling admission and then you’ll know before the Spring about admission for next year? What was it about Bard that was so appealing? Perhaps we can think of some other schools which can offer something similar. You might also post on the main “College Search & Selection” forum and ask for guidance.
I have the choice to go to a local university for the fall semester right now.but idk if I can handle loving with my mother rn. I’m currently looking at Mount holyoke, smith and bryn mawr. I prefer small colleges, but financial aid is definitely a concern for me. Everyone is telling me to just go to the uni for a year then transfer, I just don’t know whats my best chance? @SpiritManager
You should post on the more general forums. You’ll get more advice. As I said, usually financial aid is best as a freshman and if you plan to transfer its usually easier after two years. But there are exceptions.
