Chance me for Berkeley, UCLA & UCSD

I am a senior in high school. Please chance me for these three schools.

  1. 2240 on the SAT (M- 690, CR- 750, W-800); 28 on the ACT; no subject SATs
  2. 4.3 weighted gpa, 3.6 unweighted gpa, 3.8 UC gpa
  3. 4 ap tests taken (human geo- 3, us history- 5, psychology- 5, english language- 4)
  4. 9 ap classes taken in high school, 8 honors classes
  5. My two essays were very well-written (one is about an 8.5/10, one is probably a 9/10)
  6. ECs: speech and debate for 3 years, tennis for a year, JSA for a year, Inspire for a year, volunteer for ICAN for three years (accumulated about 80 hours)
  7. Awards: Honor Roll, AP scholar with honor, a few speech and debate awards including 1st place and quarterfinalist
  8. Other: I'm Asian, out of state, a political science major and a National Commended Scholar for the NMSC

Berkeley also requested 2 letters of recommendation. Two teachers whose classes I actively participated in already wrote and sent them.

Any advice is welcome!!

Berk and LA seem like reaches, SD seems like a high match. Your UC weighted GPA really hurts you.

Berkeley and UCLA are reaches.

Agree that your UW GPA will be a crucial admit factor, given that you are a non-resident. Honors classes don’t count for extra points if you are not a California resident.

Remember, there is limited to no financial aid for OOS students, so your fees will run $55K per year.
