A little Bio:
I am a African American male who lives in Minnesota. I attend an average school. I live in a single parent household in a family of 4(Me, brother, mom, and grandmother.) We do not get child support from our father. I do qualify for Free lunch at school. My brother has ADHD. I also might have it(although I am not sure of the symptoms) because lately I have a had a hard time concentrating on my school work. I had another brother who died of leukemia when I was around 5 or 6.(Recently, my moms bank account was emptied by the credit card company because she used that card a decade ago to pay for my brother who died's treatment)

I don’t know if you’ll get into the college of engineering at UMinn but if you don’t, you’ll most likely get into college of liberal arts then you can take the same classes as a biomedical engineering undergraduate and the end of sophomore year if you have taken all the necessary undergraduate courses and have a GPA of above 3.2 you can apply and most likely get into the biomedical engineering program as long as you have a good GPA and professor recommendation. In fact, I know plenty of people who start out either in the college of liberal arts or college of biological sciences and then switch to the engineering school sophomore year.
I think it’s a match because your Math score is okay.
You should also look at other colleges. With 9 AP’s, your GPA, and your life of overcoming obstacles, you should definitely apply to the best schools such as Carleton, St Olaf, Macalester, and Grinnell. They will look at your scores in context. These schools offer tremendous opportunities and may cost you less than UMN.
In addition, UMN-Rochester has an excellent Health Science program in partnership with the Mayo Clinic: [Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences - University of Minnesota Rochester](http://r.umn.edu/academics-research/programs/undergraduate/bshs/)
