Hi everyone,
I am a white male from New York City applying to Choate, Deerfield, and NMH for 9th grade who doesn’t need financial aid. NMH is my safety, and I have a connection. Choate is my top choice, and they know that it is. Please chance me for these schools and I would love to hear any advice.
Grades: Now in the 8th grade I have straight A’s.(my school doesn’t have A+'s) In the 7th grade I had all A’s and a few B/B+'s. In the sixth grade, I had all As with some B/B+'s and a c+ first trimester in Mandarin. Will my grades in early sixth grade seriously affect my chances?
ISEE: I got a 98 percentile for quantitative, 97 percentile for reading comp, 88 percentile for vocab, and an 86 percentile for math achievement. Overall
EC: I was elected student council vice president and started a school-wide initiative to move from wasteful paper cups to reusable water bottles. I am part of my school’s TEDx club(giving a talk in March), Environment Club(Programmed website), Maker’s Club, and Diversity Awareness Initiative for students. Also, I am fluent in HTML, CSS, Javascript, Ruby, and Java and I freelance. Plus, I organize and participate in service activities like pantry drives and working at soup kitchens.
Interview and Essays: My ISEE essay went very well, and I think my application essays are well written and personalized. All of my interviews turned into discussions, and I think that my interviewers liked me.
Thank you in advance
