What are my chances for: UIUC, UCSD, Boston U, Duke, NYU, Ann Arbor?

I wish you put your weighted gpa and class rank. From what I can tell, these are very realistic choices, and it is possible for your to get into Duke ( theres a difference between a 2100 and 2300 SAT). Make sure you write interesting essays too:

UIUC: safety
UCSD: Match
Boston U: match
Duke: reach/ low reach
NYU: match/ high match
Ann Arbor: match/ low match

Good luck! I hope you get into your top choice!

I agree with netennis1- probably should add in your exact SAT score. You are also going to have to have some strong essays. Your ECs are pretty good- and I also like how they are all tied in to philanthropy (so its not like you feed kids in Africa but also start your own coffee shop type of thing, you know?) I think you have a pretty good chance at all the colleges you listed- however without your weighted GPA or SAT score its hard to tell.
UIUC: Safety
UCSD: Match/Safety
Boston U: Low Match
Duke: Reach
NYU: Match
Ann Arbor: Match

You have great EC’s and good test scores. Listing your exact SAT score would help as well. UW GPA is strong as well, but what is your W GPA? From what I can tell you have as good a shot at all colleges listed as any other.

UIUC: Safety
UCSD: Match
Boston U: Low Match/Match
Duke: Low Reach
NYU: High Match
U of M: Match

Like the others said, add in your exact SAT and GPA scores, that way we can give you a better idea for the schools.

UIUC looks pretty good to get into. In the UIUCC website, under Freshment FAQ it states “What ACT/SAT or class rank do I need to be admitted?”“There is no set ACT/SAT score or class rank to be admitted. We evaluate students based upon a combination of coursework, test scores, class rank, professional statement, and personal statement. For the middle 50 percent of ACT/SAT scores and class rank for admitted students, see admission requirements.”
(Not sure if that means your scores will be needed or not but you can reserarch more on the website <a href=“Page Not Found, Illinois Undergraduate Admissions”>http://admissions.illinois.edu/faq/freshmen.html)

New York Citys a match for you. Hopefully you have money or finicial aid, 'cause NYU doesn’t really donate alot.
<a href=“Transfer Applicants”>Transfer Applicants;

Ann Arbor looks good aswell as NYC. Couldn’t find a good link so, sorry.

UMich - high match
Duke - low reach
NYU - low reach
Boston U - match
UIUC - low match
UCSD - match

It looks good, but next time post your weighted GPA and your exact SAT score. Your EC’s look excellent. Be sure to write killer essays, and you’re in at all of them.

Also asian:
UIUC EZPZ safety fo-sho
UCSD Do you live in Cali? safety
Boston U probably harder for biomedical engineering, go for Bio easy low match
Duke Definitely a high reach for anyone
NYU low reach for 2100/high match if you get a 2200-2300, i’m not sure if their bio/premed is too prestigious
Ann Arbor midreach

You shouldn’t have much of a problem. Duke is a reach because it’s always a reach. Admissions there are extremely tough. UIUC shouldn’t be a problem. UCSD should also be a safety, since your stats are extremely high and it looks like you’re in-state. BU depends on the major, though high safety-match range. NYU is a match depending on the school (CAS and Stern are very tough, more of a low reach, Engineering is easy). Ann Arbor is a high match-low reach.

These rankings (reach, match, safety) are very dependent on your SAT. If you get in the range you said you will, then it works. If less, then that’ll hurt your chances a bit (especially at Duke and Ann Arbor, to a lesser extent NYU, and very little for the others)

EC’s are very good, academics look good too. Is the 3.8-3.9 weighted or unweighted? That’ll affect it. If that’s unweighted, you’re in good shape. If it’s weighted, then it’ll be pretty tough.

Consider the subject tests. I know Duke wants your subject tests. Choose the ones that you’ll do good on, and possibly explain a hole or two. If you did bad one semester or never took it at honors level, the subject test can make up for that.

Essays and recommendations will make a big difference at this point. Find something special about you and talk about it. Show don’t tell. For recommendations, choose the teachers that can write more about you than just how well you did in class.
