bump

Some majors/schools require Subject tests, but it doesn’t look like Cornell does for Dyson. Here’s the profile for the Class of 2022 which may help you decide if you want to apply to Dyson or another program there.

Your ACT is fantastic but relative to your other scores, your Math looks weak and your AP Calc score is low, so you may not want to submit that, however, the problem there is that they will know you took the AP Calc AB and wonder why you didn’t submit it. We were told submit all scores as it doesn’t really matter, but who really knows? Not sure Calc is required for that major anyway.

Just like Duke, the Ivies are reach for everyone, so if you can afford to apply, and are ok doing the extra essays, then there is probably no harm in it.

As for chancing you, I have no clue in that regard, but for someone who has a better sense of that, you also probably want to state whether you’re male or female and your race since that will also play a factor.

Good luck!

bump

I apologize for what I am sure is a stupid, question, but what does “bump” mean?

You have very strong credentials, and I wish you luck at Duke, Cornell and elsewhere…but I assume you are aware that Dyson is the hardest business school to get into in US. Less than a 3% admission rate, lower than Penn’s Wharton or Stanford generally. So, yeah, a very tough one…so not possible to “chance” anyone really. Last year, Dyson admitted 122 out of 4164 Dyson applicants (that includes both ED and RD). If you like Cornell and would consider options other than Dyson, your chances would likely increase…but, of course, choose the course of study you are most interested in pursuing.

@Hopper2019 It means he wants to move this thread to the top of the Cornell posts so by hitting bump, it looks like someone “commented” hence it moves it up as if there was a recent post and it stays up there at the top. Does that make sense?

@stparent - Thank you!!!
