Your ACT and GPA are on the low side. CSE has become a tough admit, so its a reach for you but worth applying.
High grades/scores in AP will help.
Note if you are pursuing comp sci apply CLA as well. You are a likely admit there and can still get your CS degree (BA).
UMN should receive your new ACT scores as soon as you do, as long as you arranged to have them sent when you registered for the test.
I had arranged for them to be sent before I took the test, but it was not shown up in my tracker. Also, even though uofm doesn’t require letters of rec, is it worth sending them? Should I send in first quarter grades?
In general, UMN reads whatever you send them and that would include a rec. letter, as long as sent by the appropriate deadline.
Did you submit by the Nov. 1 Priority Deadline? If so, all your additional materials would have been due by Nov. 8th per their website. Your test score is fine as long as you arranged to have it sent when you registered - they say that they will consider the Oct. 22 ACT.
How did you do on that new ACT (and what is the breakdown)? They will consider your single best composite score.
Oh ok sorry - thought that your ACT on the original post was your previous ACT. So the only significant red flag is the reading component - had you scored higher you would be a solid match. Are you required to take TOEFL or is your US schooling sufficient to waive that?
Your GPA might be a tad low as well.
I’d say match-to-low reach. Good luck to you and let us know what happens!
I got into CSE this morning.
