Hi everyone!
I am currently a junior, but I was wondering if you would be willing to chance me so far in my high school career?
GPA: 4.0 unweighted
SAT: (new SAT) 1450
Class Rank: 2/636
Race: White (I don’t know if this plays a role or not)
Program: International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IB) (APs within the program include AP Lit, AP Bio, AP Psychology, AP Calculus AB, and then the other classes are IB labeled classes like IB History etc).
In addition to these classes, I also took AP Human Geography as a freshman and AP Statistics as a sophomore. I received a 5 on both exams.
Extracurricular activities:
Athletics:
Girl’s Track & Cross Country Captain
3X Girl’s Track MVP
District, Regional, and State Track & Field Championship qualifier
2X Girl’s Cross Country MVP
District, Regional, and State Cross Country Championship qualifier
Ranked #18 junior in the state for track (1600m, 800m, 3200m) (could possibly get recruited for track and cross country)
Broke the school records in the 800m, 1600m, and 3200m running events.
Clubs:
UNICEF: President, Vice President, and Treasurer (have been in the club since freshman year)
Key Club: IB Representative and Event Coordinator (have been in the club since freshman year)
IORG: Chaplin, Treasurer (have been in the club since freshman year)
Awards/Honors:
National English Honor Society (since sophomore year)
National Science Honor Society (since sophomore year)
Academic Team (since sophomore year)
Won an essay competition about community service 2016
Awards from every XC and Track meet
Volunteering:
CAS (IB service requirement 250 hours)
Bright Futures (100 hours)
These volunteering hours were done (and are currently being done) within clubs and at my local YMCA.
Job experience:
Job at the YMCA since sophomore year 3-4 days a week, 3-3.5 hour shifts.
Tutoring my neighbors (age range 8-15) (I don’t know if I can put this on my application because colleges can’t really confirm this tutoring)
I know I need to increase my SAT score, but do you think I would be a competitive applicant for Dartmouth College, Columbia University or Johns Hopkins?
Thanks in advance!
