“I feel like I’m just not impressive and don’t stand out”

If you believe the above it will come through in you application. Your academics are impressive and will get you a second look but highly competitive schools want more.

You can’t check a box and then describe it with passion. What do you believe in or care about? How do you impact those around you? What is your potential and how will a competitive academic environment bring out your best?

Figure out what your “true” story is and then seek out opportunities to bring out your best.

Don’t be passive in this process but actively seek out opportunities to have an impact. You are obviously smart, ambitious and have skilled. Don’t think about what an admissions officer wants think about who you are and what you want. The confidence and success this approach will yield will carry the day in providing a compelling application.

Good luck.

You are a competitive applicant. Your stats and ECs are good. Write amazing essays and you could get accepted to either school
