Basic info: Chilean male applying as an international student, I study in a private jesuit school.
Grade: 12th (Beggining of the year because of my hemisphere, I would begin college in the spring of 2019)
Grades: We measure on a different scale but I have a 6.6/7 as an average of my grades in the last 4 years
Ethnicity: Hispanic White
Family Income: 135k per year aproximately, my two parents combined
SAT: I am consistently scoring in the 1400 to 1500 range on practice tests. I take the test in May, and might retake in october if scores are low
SAT Subject tests: I will take French and Math II in october if my SAT score is good. Pretty confident I’ll get good grades (I speak french fluently and I’ll be studying Math II all year because its contents are in the Chilean University Admissions Test)
Extracurriculars:

Things I did on my own initiative:
- Organizer of an Aid Center for wildfire relief
-Two years tutoring middle schoolers in Maths
-Giving breakfast to the homeless every Tuesday before school for two years
-Teaching spanish to haitian immigrants every week for a year
Things my school organized and I attended (I don’t even know if these should count) - One week reparing the infrastructure of a poor school
-One week adapting poor houses for the cold of the winter
-One week doing factory work while living with a low income family (the money I made went for them)

-One and a half years in a (Roman Catholic) Christian community, within this organization, i did:
-One week building houses
-One week working with children
-A few occasional appearances in the church choir

-Three years in the debate team, one year as capitain, one year also in English debate
-Two time quarter finalist in a 32 school yearly competition

I realize that my ECs are probably too crowded and most are irrelevant, but I don’t really know what helps me and what doesn’t.
I am applying only to Duke and Vanderbilt because they are the only ones with merit scholarships that are sufficient for me. I will apply ED to Duke and RD to Vanderbilt.
