You are a strong candidate.
But why Duke & not Northwestern or another major debate school ? Are you being recruited for debate ? Do you want to continue debating while in college or university ?
Best college debate teams appear to be: Northwestern University, Harvard, University of Kansas & Georgetown University. Nevertheless, debate may not be your main focus in college. And Duke’s campus culture may be appealing to you, while others less so.
Thanks for your response! Although I do plan to continue a form of speech in college (though not as competitively as I do now, and not as a recruit) , I am aware that it is not available at Duke. I plan to create a Speech club, which is something I also emphasize in my why duke essay. This would be an extension of what I do now, excluding the competitive aspect of it.

Very impressive activity & accomplishments given high value in the real world.
Just a guess, but I think you have a pretty decent chance in ED, maybe 30-40% of either being accepted or at least deferred to RD and will get another bite of the apple.
Pros: Strong GPA, National awards, and black female. Cons: SAT of 1480 is in the bottom 25% of accepted students (Class of 2022 Median 50% was 1490 - 1560).
Good luck, even if you don’t get into Duke, I’m sure you will have some great college acceptances.
