Pull-ins: I am a legacy - my dad attended the college and the Georgetown medical school. My cousin (yes I know it’s not that important, but still is something nonetheless) also went to Georgetown. I have good EC’s, my Gtown interviewer was very impressed with everything I am involved in. My dad is also an interviewer for Georgetown.
Potential Drawbacks: ACT scores are not extremely high
@wisteria100 My school has probably the most strange system of measuring GPA, but it is a 4.4. I did take subject tests, but they surprisingly haven’t been posted yet.
when did you take the subject tests? if it was over a month ago and they haven’t been posted contact the college board bc that doesn’t seem right. 3 subject tests is essentially a requirement @ g’town so it probably contributed to your deferral. your stats and ec’s seem good enough + legacy is in your favor. what is your intended major?
I’m gonna say you have a good shot. RD is definitely more competitive but it just seems like a 50/50. Who knows, you could be lucky! But it looks like you’ve got it.
Lower rank and GPA will hurt your chances. ACT is decent enough but in combination with the lower than average GPA/rank it will be of some concern to the admissions officers. Good luck.
@Komz1304 is actually incorrect statistically speaking RD is slightly easier to get into than early action is at Georgetown. Your profile looks good although the missing subject tests are an issue. I really think this could go either way l hope it works out for you!
@gormar099 I applied to MSB. They said EA applicants were not as encouraged to have subject tests because of the early deadline. Also, they said it was okay for January subject tests, but it was postponed to first week in February for me because of the huge snow storm that hit the east coast that weekend.
@canes16 I thought Georgetown required that you send ALL of your standardized test scores. They will know if you only send some. My guidance counselor said no way around it, you have to send them all. good luck!
