Chance Me for Georgetown, UVA, Boston College, Northeastern, George Washington U, American U...

Hi, I’ll chance back. Interested in business. I live in an Appalachian area where the SAT and SAT2s are highly unstressed. I talked to admission counselors and they told me they are aware the SAT is not primarily given in my area. Please give me pointers on my ECs, test scores, etc. I would like to apply EA to UVa, Georgetown, and Boston College. Please let me know if you believe this is a good idea or not. We have a small school without popular clubs, so I have tried to devote myself to as much as possible. I’ve taken the highest courses our school offers. My teacher recs will be 10/10, and my essay will be 9/10.

One of my good friends got into Georgetown EA, she had a 4.0 GPA and I do not know what her weighted GPA was, but something similar to yours. However, she only had a 28 on the ACT and got in! So, your GPA is stellar and I think your ACT is good enough too; however, taking the ACT again cannot hurt you. Your ECs are amazing!

UVA is a reach for everyone who is OOS, but definitely low reach for you.
I think you are a high match-match for Boston College.
Low match for George Washington University and American University.

Match for all except for UVA possibly. ACT is right on the median line, lack of SAT is understandable, but it’s still going to hurt a little bit. EC’s definitely pick up the standardized test slack. All in all, I put a match on everything minus a low reach for UVA.
