Chance me for Georgia Tech, Carnegie Mellon, Berkeley, MIT, Caltech, Harvard, Yale, and Johns Hopkins!

I WILL CHANCE BACK :)

Wow… I feel like you will get accepted in all these colleges, but did you apply to Stanford? It seems like you are a Stanford kid.

But anyways, you are very strong I think you got into Georgia Tech and Berkeley for sure. The others you have a very high chance. You should not be worried, you will end up in one of those!

Chance me: <a href=“Chance for me to get into SJSU? - State Forums - College Confidential Forums”>Chance for me to get into SJSU? - State Forums - College Confidential Forums;

I have contacted MD Anderson previously about internships for high school students and found online and when talking to them that you have to be a senior.

Nice resume. I’m going to comment on MIT in particular, because they focus heavily on science and math competitions as well. Have you taken something like the AMC? I feel that it would round out your prowess in computing very nicely.
If you have the time for me: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1612387-chance-me-for-brown.html</a></p>

With your academic stats you are very competitive and your ECs show you are very focused in a certain area which will show the schools that you are passionate. You have a very good shot at most of these but remember no matter what, they’re still reaches.

My thread (chance pls): <a href=“Chances for Vanderbilt, UNC, NYU, UF, and Duke? - Chance Me / Match Me! - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1610985-chances-for-vanderbilt-unc-nyu-uf-and-duke-p1.html</a></p>

Your ECS show that you are very passionate about this and mostly all of them will jump at the chance to take you in.
For hacking maybe you could put it as something like informing web page administrators that their pages aren’t secure because you managed to infiltrate it and gave them suggestions on how to improve their security.

My thread (Chance me please): <a href=“Chances to get into Yale, Brown, Tufts, Emory, NYU, Georgetown, George Washington - #11 by LBad96 - Chance Me / Match Me! - College Confidential Forums”>Chances to get into Yale, Brown, Tufts, Emory, NYU, Georgetown, George Washington - #11 by LBad96 - Chance Me / Match Me! - College Confidential Forums;

The hacking seems interesting. An essay discussing the ethics of positive hacking will show perceptiveness and an awareness of the ethics of science. Perhaps you could focus on this? Too many people talk about their “passion” for science. Realistically, this type of essay is boring. To be honest I skimmed through your ECs until “hacking” because your other ECs are really generic (even if they are hard to achieve)…Chess, AppStore, Website…

Strive to be unique. It creates a memorable persona in the office’s hearts.

Other than that your ECs are above average, and stats are fine.

Georgia Tech - Safety
Carnegie Mellon - Match
Carnegie Mellon School of CS - Reach
Berkeley - High Match ~ Reach
Caltech - Reach
MIT - Reach
Harvard & Yale - Slightly higher chances than MIT & Caltech if applying for engineering subjects that they are weak in (etc. electrical engineering); if not, same chances. Why? They are expanding in these subjects.
Johns Hopkins - Low Reach

I disagree with Skyrior. GT is not a safety from this year’s stats. You have an amazing profile, but make sure you demonstrate your personality thru essays.Given your stats and ECs, I’d say:

GT:low match-match
CMU-high match(Reach if CS)
Berkeley:match
Caltech: high reach
MIT: high reach
Yale:low reach
Harvard:reach
JHU: high match

Comments on my app?<a href=“URGENT HELP ! Am I really doomed to lose schooling or go to a community college? Will chance u back? - International Students - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/china/1609820-urgent-help-am-i-really-doomed-to-lose-schooling-or-go-to-a-community-college-will-chance-u-back-p1.html</a></p>

@bbff1234 If that is true, then OP should ignore my chance on GT. I have not really looked at GT too much this year, but I do know that from 2011 it is relatively easy to get in based on your stats. That means my impression of GT is quite outdated now.

Chances at Ivy for any applicant is a reach… Georgia Tech and Carnegie Mellon are safeties but other than that they are all in the low reach range (HYP high reach) You should still apply to all the lottery schools though, you have good chances :)

Mit reach

Gt match
