EC's:
-Model UN - 5 committees by the end of this year (2 so far), won best novice once and honorable mention once.
-MADMen (Make A Difference Mentors) - 1 yr (will be 2 by graduation) - A peer mentoring program where I helped a student (1 on 1) with academic, social and organizational issues.
-Habitat for Humanity - 3 yrs - I went to North Carolina and helped build houses for those who are less fortunate. Each trip was a week long.
-Music - I play guitar and bass and have performed at local restaurant on numerous occasions through the school of rock.

Also:
-I am applying for, though have not yet been accepted or denied to the drexel visiting scholars program. If I get in I can take 2 college courses per semester at drexel university.
-If I do not get into said drexel visiting scholars program I will attend the drexel summer materials/engineering camp.
-I am trying and likely will get a job this summer.

SCHOOLS:
Purdue University
University of Illinois
Lehigh University
Miami University
University of Maryland
Clemson University
Boston University

REMEMBER THIS IS FOR ENGINEERING ONLY. I KNOW I WOULD LIKELY GET INTO MOST (not all) OF THESE SCHOOLS FOR OTHER MAJORS.

Too early to bump??

Someone please? At least do it for UIUC…

Before I begin, thanks for chancing me!

I think you’d stand a decent chance for all of them, while you do slug a tiny bit academically-wise (even with a ~2000 GPA) only Illinois will give some trouble, as you’re a well-balanced student if not a high area one. I’d say at least ~50% for all but Illinois, and maybe that for Illinois.

Hope this helped!

What would you say for illinois? That is probably my top choice as far as academics go. I heard the average SAT (middle 50%) is 1960 - 2170. If I hit a 2050, or even a 2000 I am right on there. I’d imagine my GPA is a little low, but other than that, what else would help my chances?

Illinois and Boston might be a hard with your UW gpa, and not outstanding SAT score.
I am not familiar with all the other schools.

I can understand Illinois with a 2000+ SAT average for engineers, but BU’s average is only 1880. After looking at the scattergram on naviance for my school I don’t think BU is out of the question. Unfortunately there is no scattergram for Illinois on naviance for me.
