I’m going into my senior year of high school and just visited Hofstra University and fell in love. Can anyone give me an idea of what my chances are? I’m applying as an English major
- 3.6 GPA end of Junior year
- 1080 new SAT score (plan to retake, although Hofstra is test-optional) - 6/6/6/ essay
- haven’t taken ACT yet (but plan to)
- AP English IV student currently
- Distinguished honors student all four years of high school
- 100 hours of volunteer experience
- have been taking honors English since Sophomore year
- got a 100 on a practice college essay I had to write for Honors English III (I know that Hofstra focuses on admissions essay a lot, so I figured I’d throw this in there. I love writing so an admissions essay isn’t a huge challenge for me)
- 28/98 class rank
- I’ll have three letters of recommendation
- female and LGBT (unsure of how relevant this is, but figured I would toss this in here)
