Subjective:

Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis):

  • Office for Initiatives Promotion (MUN Devision Chairman). I’m engaged in promoting MUN activities in Belarus, holding workshops for outgoing delegates, basically managing my national MUN movement. Currently organizing (and chairing) the biggest national MUN conference in Belarus + another one in my region (the first to ever be held here).
  • Debate club president (I organize public debates in my town, trips to debating tournaments in neighbouring countries for my clubmates, training sessions, etc.). This is the only club of this kind in my region.
  • Online and offline tutoring
  • Language exchange (Russian/German)
  • European Youth Parliament member (hopefully soon to be alumna)
  • Currently carrying out research on the development of service sector in Japan

Unfortunately, Belarusian education system isn’t very supportive of any extracurricular activities :-<

Job/Work Experience: Translator/interpretor for a company (mainly managing email correspondence, occasionally accompaning in business trips).

Will be applying for financial aid.

Do I have a shot?

I teach at Wharton. I’m not familiar with the admissions process for Huntsman, but I’ve gotten to know a number of students in the program Haven’t met any Belarusians yet, but your quals seem typical for the international students. So yes, I’d say you have a shot.

Belarus is nearby Chernobyl - most Americans are aware of Chernobyl (even if they can’t find it on the map!)
We have several friends from Belarus and there is a large community of Belarusians in NJ!!! -so I think you will be pleasantly surprised by your proximity to fellow countrymen if you come to Penn!

Your stats look great (although your SAT looks a little low)… but you never know your chances if you don’t apply so absolutely apply!! Good Luck!!
