Thank you so much for your help!

Holy crud, that stuff’s impressive. Unfortunately, HYPSM, Cal, Columbia, and Dartmouth are frequently called “crapshoots,” which is probably 100% accurate. But still. Wow. So much math happening. I’m going to say that you will definitely be a competitive applicant. Also: What level do you climb at? Which languages?

Are you in state for Berkeley? If not, it’s super expensive so that’s something to think about. Great stats, but unfortunately all of those schools are crapshoots, but I think you have a great shot.

Chance me?

Who can say with these schools? People with horrible stats have gotten in, and people with great stats have not. I think you have a good chance, but apply to safeties and a few real matches, so you can have a wider range of schools, not just crapshoots like these.

@awesomepolyglot I haven’t set any national records or anything on that scale but I’ve climbed >5.11 grade (>V6 in bouldering) since I was 13. I speak fluent Russian, Ukrainian, Polish (immigrated from eastern Ukraine and have polish ancestry) and English, currently learning French. My life is mostly dominated by math rather than linguistics though if that wasn’t clear, haha

Nice. Occasional V4 and 5.11, consistent on V2(yikes) and 5.10. I lost by one problem in my last bouldering comp to a girl who had been climbing for less than 2 months. >_<

I’ve been climbing for 5 years…

I’ve been there many times. I feel like there’s always somewhere who is younger and better at climbing…getting your own inferiority slammed into your face over and over can get very irritating at times haha

I really love climbing though, gotta say. @awesomepolyglot
