Chance me for ivies and nescac schools however have one devestating blow

Hello I am a rising senior looking to play lacrosse in college at ivy's and nescac. Many schools from NESCACS and IVY are interested with me as lacrosse player. As I am about to send my transcripts, I notice I had one C in my whole high school career during my freshman year at an IB public school in placement biology course. I hated the school so much I convinced my parents to move to prep school in Virginia in ever since I have had all A's and A-s and have taken 4-5 APS and honors classes and have received 4s and 5s on exams. In addition, i have 2200 on SAT and high 700's on subject tests. Lastly, I have started clubs like investment club, and International Rescue Club. Have received national Latin awards and classic awards, and have taken college Latin course and done research with a latin professor.

I was wondering would that one C hurt me with schools like Williams, Amherst, Middlebury, Penn, Dartmouth, and Brown in terms of regular admission or athletic recruiting or would they overlook it and see the anomaly, because since it was freshman year in a situation that I hated ( which I could explain the situation of C). Also, they could see my upward trend, see what I accomplished, and seen what I have become. Thank you so much I look forward to responses.

If they’re interested in you (i.e. they are contacting you), I would say that this is not a problem. In any case, one C in your freshman year with the rest of your “career” being A’s… I wouldn’t sweat it. I don’t know much about highschool->college admissions (I’m a transfer student with a break in education) but from what I heard, junior and senior year are the most considered.

If they are interested in you… I think you have a very good chance.

If you are good enough to be recruited you will be fine. Those SATs and awards are good enough.

I think you’re safe. Your SAT’s are good–if you raised them to 2300+ you’d have an even better chance–and your awards are impressive. I had a similar experience with freshman grades: I go to the 4th best private high school in the US and I had two Bs, two B+s, and two A-s on my freshman transcript. Since then, I’ve had all As. If you show an upward trend, like you seem to, and especially if you get recruited, you’ll still have decent chances. Good luck! Could you chance me for Princeton? Thanks so much!
