Northeastern
Bucknell (Possible ED)
Villanova
Fordham
UMDCP
IU
Penn State
Miami U
Elon University
UCONN (in-state)

So what do you guys think?

Bump

BC- Reach because Carroll is very tough to get into and your gpa and scores are lower than the average
Richmond- Low reach/high match
Northeastern- Match
Bucknell- Low reach/ high match
Villanova- Low reach (weighted gpa is too low)
Fordham- match
UMD- Match
IU- Match
PSU- Match
By Miami do you mean in Ohio? Don’t know anything about that one but if your talking about the one in Florida- Match
Elon- Match
UConn- Safety

I think you should cut atleast 1 or 2 of the matches. Some of them are very different and you have a lot of matches.

Also I would highly recommend applying early decision to Bucknell. It helps a lot there

@MegaMetalHead Miami U is the one in Ohio. U of Miami is in Florida. If I were to cut one of the schools it would probably be Villanova because it is expensive and my parents prefer not to pay that much. Applying ED to Bucknell is the plan so far. Would that help my chances a lot?

I wouldn’t say “a lot” but definitely significantly. The ED acceptance rate at Bucknell is a lot higher because they want to keep yield rates up.

@MegaMetalHead Thanks a lot for your input! I have one last question: Is BC out of reach or is it worth the application to give it a shot?

I would take Fordham off and replace with Lehigh.

@BatesParents2019 That would be a possibility but I need to see if Lehigh would be a good fit for me. With that said, how do my chances look with these schools?

Very well thoughout list assuming in the worst case U Conn is OK. Just enough risk in the list and a high probability choice like Elon is smart.

Its worth the application. Also I second the Lehigh thing. Excellent business school and applying ED there helps a lot. I think you would like it there.

@BatesParents2019 I would be okay with that although it is not preferable. However, you do think I have a good chance at some of the other schools though, right?

Yes I do. You put alot of thought in the list. Fordham probably should be changed but either way its a good list.

High Reach:
Northeastern: 5%
BC: 15%

Reach:
Lehigh: 25%
Richmond (Possible ED2): 30% + whatever for ED
Bucknell (Possible ED): 30% + whatever for ED

Match:
UMDCP: 40%
Villanova: 45%
Fordham: 65%
UCONN: 80%

Safety:
Penn State: 95%
Indiana U: 99%
Miami U: 99%
Elon University: 99%

@NickFlynn Bucknell’s overall acceptance rate appears lower because there is no supplemental essay requirement and it receives a lot of applications from the NJ area that are Hail Mary applications. A 29 ACT is the top of the range for 49% of the class. I think his chance is closer to 50% plus he is not coming from NJ or PA.

@BatesParents2019 Insights like that are valuable - I am just using the stats as they are.

I’d split the difference and make it 40% + whatever for ED…

@NickFlynn @BatesParents2019 Thank you for your opinions. That was exactly what I wanted to see and hoped to get out of this thread.

Boston College: reach
Richmond: low reach, high match if ED
Northeastern: Reach
Bucknell: Reach
Villanova: High Match
Fordham: Low Match
IU: Match
Miami University: Match
Elon: Match
UConn: Safety
