So do I have a chance at those schools? Please be honest. And I want to take the ACT again to see if I can get a 33 superscored/32 composite...... thanks

please someone chance me? No one will really chance me on the “college chances”

You say “those schools.” Are you referring to others besides Northeastern?

I’d say you’d probably get into Northeastern. Your GPA and ACT are good, as well as having taken some initiative in ECs, and you’re taking a challenging course load with APs. I think the challenge, though would be the fact that pharmacy is one of the more competitive programs and that’s your lowest AP score.

I don’t think it’s worth your time to try and bump your ACT score up by 1 point. If you could take it again and get a 35, that would be one thing, but I don’t think the difference between 31 and 32 will significantly impact your chances. I would put the effort elsewhere.

OK thanks. And no I meant Rutgers Pharm and Northeastern Pharm. So you think I have a shot at Northeastern Pharm EA? What else do you suggest for improving my app? And do you know the general stats of people who got accepted to Northeastern Pharm? The website has the stats for all applicants, but I was wondering what the stats are for just Northeastern pharm? Thanks. Pharmacy is very competitive at Northeastern!

I think you need to show them that (1) you’re a strong science student who can handle the demands of the major and (2) you’ll be a good contribution to the university community as a whole. I think you need to really demonstrate a strong commitment to taking challenging science classes and getting good grades in them, and continuing to take on leadership.

It’s hard to say from year to year what will get you in, especially since it keeps changing at Northeastern and getting more competitive. Northeastern doesn’t release stats on specific majors, as far as I know, so I think your best bet would be to see what you can find about the stats of pharmacy hopefuls who got accepted/rejected this year in the threads here on Northeastern’s CC.

Oh I did that. I took ap physics B, ap calc AB, ap psych, and ap bio in high school. Should I take ap enviro science?

And then I took some ap history classes like ap world history and ap gov. I also took ap Econ.

you have an awesome GPA!

I’m a sophomore still in high school and sooooo badly want to go to Northeastern now… Post in this thread again when you get your results!

And would you mind giving me some tips on what I should do in HS to prepare and have a shot at Northeastern o+6 pharm?

Thanks!

1.Take science courses. Honors/AP preferably. Reason being that pharmacy is a demanding major with…well… a lot of science courses semester after semester.
2. Develop a good relationship with at least one of your science teachers. You’ll need them for the rec letter especially for pharmacy since they’ll be able to speak to your aptitude for science.
3. Get involved with science clubs/organizations. Attend expos on pharmacy (if they have them where you live. I did.)
4. Maintain a well rounded extracurricular and academic life. I threw in a lot of science-y stuff above but Northeastern loves students who can get involved with more than one thing consistently over a broad range of topics.

I’m a pharmacy student myself at Northeastern currently.
