Chance me for NYU

NYU is the school of my dreams. I want to apply to NYU and major in Chemistry, and possibly minor in Biochemistry. Only the bad news is that I go to a very small school in Western New York.
-SAT I: 2040 for my first time, I ran out of time for my essay so I only received an 8. I might retake them if my ACT scores are not good.
-ACT: Still waiting for my scores. Will retake if not good enough.
-Class Rank: I'm currently fourth out of the 68 kids in my class.
-Unweighted Average: Currently a 3.70
-Course-load: Currently a Junior at my school. I've taken all the Honors courses available at my school, stemming back to when I was put into accelerated courses. Another bad thing is that my school does not offer AP classes at all. Although I am willing to take 1-4 AP courses via. the computer if needed also. Also, I have my Advance Regents Diploma (for NYS).
-Jobs/Work Experience: I've been working as a part-time landscaper for a family friend's company. I'm going to get a part-time job at my local hospital soon; hopefully.
-Achievements: Currently I only have awards for public speaking through a program, FFA. My class doesn't give out awards/achievements, unless it's "Student of the Month".
-EC's: Officer in FFA, Drama Club, Varsity Soccer, Sources of Strength (Suicide Prevention), Big-Buddy (Program that is similar to being a Tutor), Tutor for two children so far, Math team, Treasurer for my class too.
-Volunteer Service: I've done the usual fundraising coupled with working at a camp (Camp Officer of sorts). I am doing some service at Letchworth State Park, cleaning up trash and other wastes. I have also done a few, not more than 10 hours, of service at a local retirement home. I might throw in some more. I know I'm lacking here, but I'm not sure what else to do.
-I plan on getting a few teacher recommendations; most likely two or three. Along with when I do my application essay I plan to buy a few books from Barnes and Nobles about how to write a thorough essay.

I'm wondering if this is a reach or not. Thanks for all that reply :D.

It looks like you have a great shot of getting in given that your ACT is fine  please chance me back

Looks like you’re on the right track! NYU is not as difficult as many think, especially since you’re going to be in the CAS as opposed to Stern or Steinhardt! :)

We have very similar stats! Maybe taking subject tests in science would be better than taking the SAT reasoning test again because you are right on track with a 2040. All in all you have a very good chance I think!
Please chance me! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/new-york-university/1166694-can-i-get-nyu-please-chance.html

I don’t get it. NYU is a terrible college experience.

admitone: That is your opinion, which is not shared by many of actual NYU students. Some of us (apparently the OP included) care little for the mundane routine of frat parties, frisbee on the quad, and Saturday morning football. Unless you can speak from personal experience as to how NYU offers such a “terrible college experience,” it’d be nice of you to refrain from making such unwarranted blanket judgments. If the NYU experience is not for you, fine, but you don’t need to go around saying how awful a school you’ve never attended is based on superficial “knowledge” gained from CC threads.

zerorevolution: I’d say your chances range anywhere from match to low reach. Numbers-wise, CAS is the second most difficult school to get into at NYU, coming in slightly behind Stern. The average SAT is around 1410 or so (CR+M) and GPA around 3.75, so I’d say a retake is probably warranted. A 2100+ with your GPA would probably be sufficient.
