Olin is pretty darn selective, but nevertheless you have a good shot. Just don’t slack off senior year! And as for your PSAT score, it’s nothing to worry about. Colleges will think nothing of it if you don’t send the score- it’s only meant to help you, not hurt you.

Olin: Reach

Do you have matches and safeties lined up?

Thank you!
NYU- Match
Georgetown- Match
CMU- High Match/Low Reach

And yes, I certainly do. I just wanted to focus in on Olin because I’ve already done posts for other schools on my list.

I think you have a pretty great chance at getting into Olin. Honestly, I dont think the PSAT score can hurt you, it can only help.
Your ECs are pretty impressive. Your course load is also nice.
Good luck, I would say low reach.

I would appreciate if you could chance me. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1543684-what-my-chance-getting-into-columbia-ed.html</a></p>

Thank you! You have terrific stats, but you’re a bit lacking in EC’s (though what you have is very good). I would say low reach. I’m thinking of applying to Columbia myself but RD.

Bumping this up.

Strong ECs, strong commitment, GPA is on the low side. This school has a very low acceptance rate so make sure to have safeties! PSAT does not matter at all. SAT subject tests, however, do. And you may wish to retake in hopes for a 750+! Good luck!

Thanks! As for GPA, do you think my courseload will help balance it out? I do have safeties and other schools lined up, but I’ve already posted threads about them here.

Now onto you
UPenn Ed: High Match
UChicago EA: High Match
Columbia University: Low Reach
Harvard/Yale/Princeton: Reach (same for really anyone though)
Northwestern (Legacy): Match
Cornell: Match
Duke: Match
Brown: Match/High Match
WashU in St. Louis: Match
University of Illinois Champaign: Low Match
University of Illinois Chicago: Safety

I think Olin is a reach for every student, it isn’t a sure thing for anyone. What makes you stand out? What’s your passion?

Olin seems like a low reach, it’s selective but you’re doing well.

Disclaimer - I’m not particularly familiar with it

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1547274-chance-me-uchicago-ea-stanford-georgetown-michigan-unc.html</a></p>

Olin: low reach

Try to improve CR score to be up there with your math. Their CR scores are really high for a “techy” school. GPA is good. ECs decent and show leadership.

Chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1546433-updated-umiami-chance-thread-will-chance-back.html#post16322675</a>

Also, if it means anything, I would say Georgetown is a high match to low reach. It’s becoming a reach for everyone school. Btw why do you want to go there, since they have no engineering?
