Chance Me For OSU and Scholarships

I am currently a junior in high school and OSU really interests me (mainly their computer science program) and I was hoping to be chanced based on my current stats.

I am a resident of Ohio

GPA: 3.84 UW
ACT: 29 - 33 math, 26 english, 31 reading, 25 science (time killed me)

Freshman year and sophomore year I took almost every advanced/honors and got mostly A’s. Also in my sophomore year I self-studied AP Calculus AB and got a 5.

Junior Schedule: (First Semester)
Honors Physics
Spanish III
Calculus II (At local college)
Intro to Comp Science (At local college)
Intermediate Composition (At local college)
Discrete Math (At local college)

 • Self-studying AP Physics C, AP Chemistry (while auditing the course), and AP Psychology.

ECs:(I plan on continuing them all until I graduate)
Academic Team (started as a sophomore)
Track (started as a freshman)
Engineering Team (started as a sophomore) (only a couple of weeks)
Student Council (started as a sophomore)
Hoping to get into honor society this year

I have also been in a rock band “The Stiffs” (guitar) since the eighth grade. We have played several smaller shows (highest 600 people) and written a couple original songs so I am hoping that is a unique EC.

I cannot think of anything else right now. I am pretty sure I will be able to get into OSU, but what do you think I should try for to get in the honors program and get some scholarships.

If you get your science score up higher (28+) and you get A’s and B’s in your college classes you have a very good chance of getting in. Try to acquire leadership positions to solidify your resume. Good luck! :)

Your grades are good enough to get in - but to get a scholarship it is going to be difficult. It is much more competitive at OSU to get a scholarship. Capital is much more generous in giving out aid and scholarships.

I would think you’d get in but you’d likely need to get your ACT score up for honors/scholarships unless you provide diversity in a way that the university finds desirable.
