^ In other words, you’re competitive, but nothing in your post makes you clearly stand out from ~10,000 or so other Princeton applicants. So … the outcome may well hinge on factors beyond your control.

Of course, you do have some control over your essays, interview, and other elements of your application package. However, you better have a clear idea of what attracts you to Princeton so you can look for similar qualities in other, less selective schools.

Environmental engineering would be my major. My essays are about my trip to costa rica and how the culture and their attitudes changed my view on life, and racism, and I have written one about my epilepsy and overcoming it’s effects. I am Hispanic but born in the US. I learned English as a child and picked up the language from my grandmother when I was three. I am first gen.

As well I have numerous hours (300+) of community service starting since 6 grade and I am a camp counselor at the Broyhill national leadership conference, and I bake specialty cakes for weddings and events, and robotics team, and jazz band.

I also did not mention I created a cancer model using fruit flies. I used oxidative stress to develop tumors or growths on the flies. I was going to complete the same task and ad a chemical beta coratene found in garlic to their environment to see if it would prolong the effects, but I was hospilitzed for my epilepsy. Is was an independent project. I plan to finish it if I ever get access to Brookhaven lab.

As well if someone could chance me for Johns Hopkins that would be most appreciated.
