My overall academic performance weren't that great or fantastic as you guys could see. I just hope that my strength in Humanitarian courses could give me a edge when competing with other students in the applicant pool. Besides, most of Chinese students were stereotypically good at math and science. They don't apply to major like history or philosophy either. It's rare for a Chinese student to excel in courses in English and history. I hope this could benefit me to a certain extent.

Extracurricular Activites (my biggest worry)
In China, we don't have much chance to participate in extracurricular activity because of disouragement from teachers and parents. Back in China I was always viewed as a deviant and exceptional student because I only participate in playing sports intensively but also maintained a good grades. But the general atmosphere is discouraging. Volunteering and social community service is even further far beyond our reach.
What strikes me is a great majority of my chinese collegues would hire an agency to help them to boast their extracurricular record by making fake volunteering experiences and club activities. I just hope that my honesty and real life experiences of my activities, though a few in number, could convey real passions and enthusiasm that distinguishes me from them.
