Chance me for some good LACs

Hi,

Need some feedback on my chances for the following colleges, so that I can use up my last 4 Common App slots.

So about me -

I am an International Applicant

Need considerable financial aid ( Can afford $5000 a year at the most other than personal and travel expenses. )

SAT Scores - 2150 ( M 700, CR 730, W 720 )

GPA - Very good

ECs - https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B7Ef0RM0dDshbjJFMnhFYjNPVVk

The colleges are as follows :-

Franklin and Marshall College

St. Olafs College

Dickinson College

Lafayette College

St. Lawrence University

Trinity University ( Not to be confused with Trinity College! )

Colgate University

Connecticut College

Colorado College

Macalester College

Please help me out! The deadlines are so near.

What are you planning on studying?

I am still undecided.

Please help me… Just 3 days left before the deadline!

Being admitting at any of the places is possible. I have no idea about what FA they have for internationals. I just don’t think its possible to “chance” You have to look at them and see what they offer, what money they have, and whether they might be a fit for you. Just off the top of my head, Macalester has an international studies program. Whether the have more FA for internationals I don’t know.

You have to look at each college’s financial aid website and see what it says about international students. Note that Franklin & Marshall does not give merit aid, also (they do give need based aid, not sure about their policy on international students).

I have checked their websites and common data sets, their average aid packages are quite generous and they do offer such aid packages to lot of Internationals.

I want to know my statistical chance. If the ’ Financial Aid ’ isn’t taken into account, how much of a chance do I have of getting accepted as per my SAT scores, GPA and ECs.

I know these colleges are need sensitive but I have heard a lot of students at CC getting into the above mentioned colleges with almost full rides.

So I want to apply to the 4 colleges where I have the best chances of getting accepted to with my stats.

How did you generate such a strange list?

“how much of a chance do I have of getting accepted as per my SAT scores, GPA and ECs.”

What GPA and class rank IS that? You can look at CDS’s and see for yourself. Colorado, Colgate and Macalester are more difficult than the rest.

Why is Trinity University on with a list of LAC’s? BTW, many LAC’s on the list have January 15 deadlines.

List possible majors you are considering.

Checked their CDSs… My scores fall above or on their 75th percentile…

I do not know my actual American equivalent GPA… I had asked some colleges, most of them have calculated it between 3.87 to 4.00

Majors - I have no real idea… I love Maths, Economics, History, Pyschology, Physics, Computer Science…and I can major in any of them.

The list is not that strange after all. I had a few specific criteria like colleges providing generous aid to internationals, meets full need of every admitted student, has an acceptance rate atleast above 30% and preferably around 45%-50% and finally has a 75th percentile SAT score of around 2100 ( 1400 ). So I guess most of the colleges in my list meets all of these criteria.

College Name … 75th Percentile SAT scores … Acceptance Rate

St. Olaf - 2140 53%
Franklin and Marshall - SAT optional 45%
Dickinson College - 2060 42%
Lafayette college - 2060 40%
Colgate - 2170 29%
Colorado college - 2110 26%
St Lawrence - 1940 43%
Macalester - 2180 35%
Trinity University - 2030 61%
Connecticut College - Test optional ( 2130 ) 32%

I think Colgate and Colorado College are just below 30% admit rate. St. Olafs seems like a very odd place for someone from India. The college has many students of Scandanavian heritage, is Lutheran, and might appeal to someone from northern Europe. Lafayette has engineering and I imagine gets a fair number international applicants who are interested in engineering. Since Trinity gets confused and isn’t known, it might be your easiest to get in.

LATE: Are Colorado College’s SAT’s that low?

May be or Mayve not…

But that’s what about.com says -

[Colorado College Admissions: SAT Scores, Financial Aid & More](Colorado College: Acceptance Rate, SAT/ACT Scores)

I don’t think so averages for admitted are here:

[Testing FAQ ? Colorado College](http://www.coloradocollege.edu/admission/application/testing/faq/)

This is locked:

[Common Data Set ? Institutional Research ? Colorado College](http://www.coloradocollege.edu/offices/institutionalresearch/data-resources/common-data-set.dot)

Franklin and Marshall’s acceptance rate for class of 2016 was 36%, not 45%, according to their own Common Data.

I am not applying to Franklin and Marshall anyway!

might look at Holy Cross-very goog LAC-located 1 hour from Boston. Holy Cross has JAN 15TH deadline and is need-blind for admissions. HC website is informative.

Sadly Holy Cross college doesn’t have financial aid for International students. :(

You are very bright and might get into the ones you choose! By the way, where are you from?

Thanks mariaflores, I am from India.
