Hi all, rising college senior here. I’ve been planning on going to law school since freshman year, but I’ve recently began to doubt myself because I noticed how competitive LS admissions are, and I’m very worried about my GPA. With that said, the only reason I want to go to T14 is because I want to eventually practice international human rights law.
I go to Boston University (go terriers!), so I don’t know how my LS GPA would be calculated since BU does not give out A+'s, only A’s and A-'s. So on LS GPA scale the highest I can get is a 4.0, my dean has not offered me any answers yet, so this is pretty concerning for me.
Major: Double major in Economics and International Relations, minor in Philosophy
Undergrad GPA: 3.75
LSAT: 172
EC’s: high level positions (for sake of anonymity) at student government and the finance & investment club, writer at IR review, pre-law society, mock trial
Work experience: I interned for congressmen the summers before college; the summer before my junior year, I interned for a Manhattan patent law firm. I’m in NYC again this summer, working at an international NGO.
So yeah, as you can see, there is nothing really that makes me stand out – it’s just a regular profile. My advisor has said that law school admissions is basically a numbers game, so if I keep up my grades, I would be in good shape?
Thank you!
