Chance me for T20s - Asian male, Molecular Biology major, Pre-med track

Your parents are upper middle class, so you’re unlikely to get fin aid. You’ll need money for med school, so, follow the money! Rutgers and The College of New Jersey as in-state safeties. Then apply to the big south/southwestern public U’s that are giving massive merit money to attract students like you. Since you’re interested in research, I would not apply to the third tier LACs that might give you a lot of merit money, since they won’t have the research labs you need.

It is absolutely NOT worth it for a student like you, wanting med school, to pay 350K for undergrad at a prestigious name private school, and then pay another 350K for med school! Your goal is to spend as little as possible on undergrad, while compiling the GPA, MCAT, and research credentials that you need to get into med school.

Wow. Twenty-two posts and I think only one person actually addressed the OP’s question. Is it any wonder kids come here and then disappear!

lol, good point, it’s not easy these days to chance but your point on Brown and JHU being the toughest on the list to get in is probably accurate. The next set would be UNC Chapel Hill, Vanderbilt, NU, Cornell, WashU, Emory, meaning Emory would be the most likely for admit, though 50/50 seems a little high for RD.
