Chance me for TAMU, UT, UTD, and Baylor?

Hey guys! I’m a new member here and have a typical chance me question. I’m a rising junior, so some of my stats and extracurriculars are incomplete.

Identity: Asian Female
Income: Middle Class
State: Texas
Hooks: does being LGBT count? I’m not really sure.
Intended Major: I’m definitely wanting to go on a pre-med track, but I’m not sure what I want to major in. It’ll most likely be either biology, biomedical sciences, public health, or possibly biomedical engineering?
GPA: 4.0/4.0 (UW), 5.234/6.0 (W, but second-semester sophomore grades haven’t been factored into GPA yet)
Ranking: just outside top 10% (no ranking, but .016 off from top 10 last semester)

APs:
9: Human Geography (4)
10: World History, Environmental Science, Psychology (still waiting on scores)
11: will be taking US History, Lang, Calc A/B, Chemistry, Seminar, and Physics
12: plan on taking Lit, Stats, Calc B/C, Biology, Research, Econ, and Gov/Econ

Test Scores:
PSAT in 10th: 1470
SAT/ACT: haven’t taken yet, hopefully around 1500s range (have been doing tons of SAT/ACT practice, taking SAT in August)

Honors: National Honor Society (but almost everyone gets in at my school), no major awards or anything like that

ECS (all will be continued on throughout senior year)
-HOSA (2 years, advanced to area competition last year but didn’t place)
-Red Cross (1 year, public relations officer)
-UNICEF (2 years)
-Key Club (2 years)
-Volunteering @ a Senior Community Center
-Volunteering @ an educational center for pre-K through elementary-aged children
-Planning on getting a part-time job as a receptionist at a medical office
-Was going to do a lot over the summer, but lots got canceled because of COVID-19 (shadowing, hospital volunteering, will be doing these over junior and senior year)
-Taking part in a clinical class at school next year (one semester becoming CNA certified, one semester gaining experience @ various medical centers, such as hospitals, the fire station, etc)
-Planning on taking part in GSA next year (just coming to terms with sexuality)
-Starting a fundraising club to donate to LGBT charities and raise awareness next year

I definitely need a LOT more volunteer hours, which I plan on getting as soon as COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.

My GPA is also average at best. My highschool is pretty competitive, and I definitely slacked off a little bit during freshman year. I’ve been right outside the top ten percent GPA minimum for three semesters in a row, but I’ve been able to bring my GPA up from a 5.169 to 5.175 to 5.234 and a predicted 5.3. My GPA should continue rising as I’ll be taking almost all AP classes next year (the only non-AP is my clinical class).

Sorry about how long this was. I’ve been doing a significant amount of college research, and I’ve become a bit insecure in my abilities. I’m just hoping that I can get chanced for UT, TAMU, Baylor, and UTD. TAMU and Baylor also have accelerated pre-med programs (BA/MD and early acceptance), so if anyone has any knowledge of those, a chance on them would be appreciated!

Thank you!

From the looks of it, you can absolutely get into TAMU, UTD, and Baylor. UT is kind of tricky because of the 6% acceptance rate. I don’t know a whole lot about the accelerated med school plans, but if you get a high SAT score (probably a 1480+) I’m sure that would help for TAMU & Baylor. The only problem is that I’m not sure if Baylor is super LGBT friendly, but your ECs look absolutely great

Your stats are impressive, and you will certainly have many strong options from which to choose. Being LGBT will not be a hindrance for admission to any of your listed schools (even Baylor), but it will not be a “hook” either.
