Sorry if that was kind-of long.
So what do you think of my odds at getting into the Mendoza School of Business?

Thanks for your input

ND does not admit to a specific college like Mendoza. Students are accepted to the university and at the end of the first year, you work with your advisor to determine your college, such as Arts and Letters or Mendoza, for studies after First Year.

Thanks for that tidbit. What do you think of my chances to ND then?

Gotta get the ACT/SAT scores up. 207 on PSAT will not get you NM in most states (201 has been average national cut-off for NM Semi, NM Finalist is by state. No scholarships for semi.) Mountain climbing is cool - that could make for some great essays! IB diploma is good. Hang in there.

I need to correct the above post: the national cutoff for NM Commended recognition as been around 201 for the past few years. Cutoffs for Semifinalist are determined by state and can range from around 207, like you, to the 220’s in some states (I had a 214 that would have gotten me NMF in most states, but my state’s cutoff was 216 - bummer.) But there are no NM national scholarships for Semifinalists and none of the colleges I looked at offered anything for SF. Fewer colleges are offering NM money these days, too, but anything helps. There are a few schools that offer full rides for NMF’s but most are state schools and smaller private ones.

And what state was that? I’m from NY (if only I could be from Missisippi!) so I think the competition is rough here.

On another CC thread, New York’s cut-off for NMS is 219.
