It’s pretty hard to evaluate you without proper testing scores and your final GPA. But I’d say all the ivies/MIT/Duke would be high reaches with your current credentials(assuming your scores are average for those universities). And CMU/UM/UNC would be slight reaches considering you haven’t exactly done much.

-Take as many APs as you can if you want to be competitive for any of those schools
-Your ECs/Clubs are weak, it looks like a laundry list of clubs with no true motive. Get a leadership position or two in those and they will stand out. Also, if you want to go into dentistry, make sure your ECs show that
-“Volunteering” means nothing if you can’t explain why or how you did it. For example, saying you have “1500 volunteer hours” but can’t back it up, means little to an admissions officer. Get involved at a local hospital (or dentist if you can?) and explain why you did those volunteer opportunities and how they impacted you in your essays
-Start studying for standardized tests the summer prior to your Junior year (or earlier if you want). Take both the SAT I and ACT with little studying to see where you stand. Go with the one you feel better with (Both would be awesome…) Don’t forget about SAT II subjects tests. I forgot to take those and I only have my ACT score to back up my record, makes me a little nervous. Aim for a 2200+ on the SAT I, and a 33+ on the ACT, and 750+ on the SAT IIs
-You need a “hook”, or something that makes you stand out from everyone else. There will be thousands of applicants with similar academic records, why should they pick you? Maybe do something in your community, do some research, just something that little to no applicants will have.

I’m not trying to be harsh; just understand that if you want to attend one of those prestigious universities you have to be exceptional. So far, you’re doing great. When I was a freshman, I was worried about getting beat up instead of getting involved. I was only in 1 club and I only really got involved my Junior year.

Just try and remember those tips. You look like an amazing student and I wouldn’t doubt if someone with your caliber gets in to those schools come senior year.

Dude your a freshman. Don’t worry about anything someone on CC will say and go explore high school, find what you like, and work on that. Thats what colleges look for anyways, passion that is.

Thanks!!!
