Questions

  • Will the 32 on ACT play a role in me possibly being rejected? People have said it wont but i cant be sure
*I understand applying to these universities is a total “crapshoot” But if you could i would really appreciate your opinions on my chances of being admitted to HYP or in all, the IVY league
  • And yes i have a couple safeties Thank you

I know you have been asked and answered in your previous similar thread posts in a manner that isn’t very satisfying. Unfortunately I will be largely repeating the conclusions others have expressed to you.

You have worked hard and done well but for Ivies you are average at best from a test score and EC standpoint. Your application will be further challenged as an international applicant. Ivy league (and all schools) with single digit acceptance rates aren’t looking for reasons to accept you. As evidence I often point to the following; all of the Ivies average between 1,500, and 3,500 valedictorians applicants annually and accept around 10-20%. That’s an awful lot of kids who were the best student in their entire academic universe getting rejected. You have to stand out.

I am not trying to be critical. What you have achieved shows determination, intellect, and perseverance. You should certainly apply but I would recalibrate your expectations and dedicate less time to getting the answer you want on CC and more time to customizing applications.

And to add to @Nocreativity1 your essay sounds like a typical ploy for being a survivor of something: “My essay discusses my parents escape from war-torn Palestine, the sacrifices they made raising me , and my life living as a triplet under the spotlight of competition” Your parents escaped and sacrificed-- not you. No one cares if you are “a triplet living under the spotlight of competition.”

You are the one who should relax. This process will have lots of ups and more downs. You will have to get used to criticism and rejection.

My kids first common app was crap. We got into a huge fight but the reality was it was crap. Got to the point we were screaming at one another until I reminded him that he asked what I thought, and I owed him an honest answer. Told him if he kept at it he wouldn’t be able to have me preread again. Came back much stronger and got into several of the schools you aspire to.

No one here owes you anything (except honesty). Respond that way and people will move on.

You can listen to the advice given, you can ignore it, you can curse at it but don’t forget you asked. At the end of this you will own the result so I would moderate your tone.

FYI 8% of European males are color blind (sorry you have to deal with that). So in other words you had a better chance of being color blind then you have of getting into an Ivy with the exception of Cornell.
