Also, some information about myself:

I’m a naturalized Indian American.
I have no legacy at any of the prestigious universities for which I hope to receive feedback.
I want to major in economics or business with the goal of becoming an investment banker and transitioning to Wall Street.
(It should be apparent that a plurality of my leadership positions and many of my extracurricular activities and awards skew toward finance/economics, which demonstrates a clear focus on a specific career path from an early age. Will college admissions officers notice this and if so, will they view it in a positive light as I don’t just have a laundry list of activities but rather, I have concentrated my achievements in a particular field of interest that I intend to pursue in college?)

These are the universities for which I’m hoping to recieve feedback:

All the Ivies
Stanford
MIT
UChicago
Northwestern
Georgetown
Emory
Vanderbilt
WashU
Carnegie Mellon
Duke
Notre Dame
UMich (Ann Arbor)
UC Berkeley
NYU
UT Business Honors Program

Colleges will look positively upon your streamlined ECs. I think you’re set for most of the schools you have listed. From what I’ve read, I think U Penn would be perfect for you. As long as your essays are passionate and not mechanical, you’ll have a great chance of getting into the colleges you have listed. On a side note, if you want to apply to Yale, you’ll have to take the new SAT as they will not be accepting the old SAT for students who will be applying in the fall.

Of course you have the stats for all of the schools you’ve mentioned. Where students like you stumble is producing an application that is, as stated above, “Mechanical”. You have to have passion about the school you are applying to. Why should they choose you? You are, obviously, qualified. Be thoughtful. Figure out why you are applying to the school and write about it. You have A LOT of accomplishments and have done very well. Now tell the admissions office who you are.

Also, regarding @ap012199 's comment about Yale… I don’t think that’s accurate. This is from Yale’s website: “Applicants to the Yale Classes of 2021 and 2022 may submit either the old or the new SAT”. Do the research on this on your own.

Oh sorry about the innacurate info… That’s just what I’ve been told.

You can literally go wherever you want with those grades/scores. Just write essays unique to you and you will be fine.

Amazing profile! Write good essays and you’ll very likely be accepted by at least one of your top choices. GL!

As a student at Vanderbilt University, who also went to a large highly regarded public high school (1100 students in my grade), 35 ACT, and also had a class rank in the top 3%, I can tell you that at the very least, you should be a shoe in for Vandy (especially with that unbelievable load of ECs). Though if Wall Street is the way you want to go, I agree with the others, focus your attention on UPenn, I think that’s a solid school for you to go to (and entirely realistic).

However, remember that even if you were the top student in your class, got a 2400 on the SAT and 36 on the ACT, found a way to eradicate Zika and won a Nobel peace prize, the Ivies and Top 20 schools in the country have their own unique way of evaluating applicants. There’s no guarantees when discussing these schools. That being said, from the list you have, I’d be surprised if you didn’t get into the following:

Northwestern
Georgetown
Emory
Vanderbilt
WashU
Carnegie Mellon
Notre Dame
UMich (Ann Arbor)
UC Berkeley
NYU
UT Business Honors Program

Good luck! Write good essays!

I would still say that you don’t really have a backup school on that list!! Even though I think you can get into a lot of them, U’Mich and NYU along with other schools on your list HATE to be treated like backup schools, so don’t do it! Even if you hate it, find a back up school that works
