I think that is about all I have to say...

your ECs look good, way better than I normally see on here.

Unfortunately, your ACT is a little low, I feel you would be stronger if it was a 33 or 34.

Your GPA is low, but your rank is high, which indicates Grade deflation (to me). You have have strong scores on your AP tests which shows your school is rigorous.

Wash U- low reach
Chicago- low reach
Columbia- reach (lower if you get a higher ACT score)
Michigan- no idea
Northwestern-no idea
Penn- see Columbia
Tufts- high match

Your thoughts on me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/953807-chance-2-3-between-junior-senior.html

Thank you very much for your insight

I would also say there is grade deflation at my school, especially in the english department. They usually only give one or two A’s per semester.

However, I question why a 32 is low. Seeing as how it is the median score at Columbia and Wash U. Chicago’s median score is a 31.

But thank you very much and will post on your thread.

I don’t believe anyone knows the median score at Columbia. I do know that the 25% percentile score at Columbia is 31.

What most statistics on college test scores fail to show is the average scores of those WITHOUT any major hooks; recruited athletes, URMs, and legacies. So although a 32 may be the median at Columbia (according to your data), it won’t put you in a great position in the eyes of admissions officers looking at your application. Question all you want, but a 34+ will put you in a dramatically better position for these top tier schools.

Being president of National Honor society will look EXCELLEnt in the eyes of the admissions officers. your debate and UN awards will look good. The only thing that will bring down your Application is your standerdized test scores. 32 is pretty good but to place you above alot of other applicants is if you got a 34+. Your physics and Math II SATS are also pretty low for the schools you are applying to. You should retake them and try to bring them up to at LEAST 770.

Columbia- Reach ( because of test scores)
Wash U- Mid-low reach
U Chicago- Lowreach/match
Michigan-match
Northwestern-Low reach
UPenn- High Reach (If its Penn State, then In)
Tufts- Lowreach/match

im retaking the act, and really hope to get at least a 34. any tips, my problem area is the reading section

bump…please

lol, not in and of itself.

The ACT is not superscored (though many schools will take your highest composite), and you will absolutely need to raise it for top schools.

bump…10char

Most likely rejections from WashU, Columbia, UPenn, UChicago, and Northwestern
Most likely acceptances from Tufts and Michigan

I’m in agreement with posters who say likely acceptance to Tufts and Michigan. I would also suggest getting a CR tutor. It isn’t that expensive and a good one can help raise your score in that section. Also, keep taking practice tests!
