<p>Hey guys , I applied to uc berkeley & la for 2018 class (engineering) . I am a future undergrad student from Turkey , Istanbul . I m currently a student of private french/turkish high school , science track lessons (geometry/math/physics/chemistry/biology) are in french . It is in top 5 of turkey . Im gonna share my data , please chance me ....</p>

<p>SAT I : 2100 (800 math/630 cr/670 wr) one sitting</p>

<p>SAT II : math2-800, french-750, physics-700 ,math1-780(math 1 subject test score cannot be sent to uc schools)</p>

<p>GPA : We need an explanation here . We have french grading system and 13-14 lessons per semester .
my gpa is 3.78
weighted gpa : 4.4
11th grade gpa : 4.42
11th grade weighted gpa : 4.7
Our grading system is out of 5 but since my school is quite stingy about grades , max point is actually something like 4,5 which is gpa of the best student of our class. Our school counselor clearly stated these facts and also uc schools are quite familiar to my school too . </p>

<p>Extracurriculars :
-Founder/President of Futurism club of school . Wrote and directed a screenplay , won award at a nationwide competition ..
-Member of Omega Leo , youth club of Lions International .
-Delegate at MUN.
-Volunteer at school's social service club .
-Elected to student council of school in 10th , 11th grade ) </p>

<p>essays :
I guess quite brilliant ... also very liberal about religion&sexual orientation etc. i knew that uc berkeley&la are liberal so am i . </p>

<p>also there is a part in uc applications... they ask if there is anything we want to add so i did . My grade wasnt that good at 9th ,10th grade because of my lacking direction ;even my english was 1 out of 5 which basically means my english was awful . When I decided to take my bachelor education in usa , I literally learnt english in 2 years . In my school, english is 2nd foreign language after french . </p>

<p>so why do you think guys ? chance me pls , i ll chance you back . I m really nervous about these two schools .</p>

<p>Keep in mind that UCs dont count freshmen year grades, so I’m assuming that would help your GPA.
Both are high matches I think</p>

UCLA: High Match</p>

<p>Honestly at the very least you will get into one of them. Both UCLA and UC Berkeley are going to like how you overcame an adversity (had to learn english)
That will really help you and that you are an international student.
LA has a ton of international students. </p>

<p>You will probably get in, don’t sweat over it since you already applied and did everything you could!</p>

<p>I think you will be fine. Your SATs and your GPA combined make you pretty competitive. </p>

<p>if it’s not too late take SAT one last time. 2100 is low for berkeley but still okay</p>

<p>But I havent practiced SAT since october so i dont think that ı can take sat one more time .</p>

<p>You’re definitely admissible, but then again, it’s not a sure thing since your SAT scores and grades are just good, not stellar/outstanding. </p>

<p>OOS and ENG? Things don’t look good for you, unless it’s true that the UC’s are after full-pay kids. </p>
