Anyway I hope to get in. Let me know what you think

Apply EA; there’s no reason not to.

Assuming your essays are honest and interesting, you’re a shoo-in, or as much of a shoo-in as anyone can be at a selective school like Chicago. Good luck!

Well it looks like he’ll be applying to Princeton’s SCEA, so no EA Chicago for him if that’s the case.

RD for Chicago is hard. Less than 10% admit rate.

In that case, Chicago’s a low reach for the OP. Certainly not a shoo-in by any means, especially with ORM status.

very promising

You’re in. Also, you can probably go Ivy. You’re SAT scores are great. I say apply EA for UChicago (and I imagine you’ll get in) then apply regular decision to the Ivies if you get into UC. Your stats are better than mine were in high school, and I got in EA, although I had a lot of arts stuff. UChicago doesn’t have very good art, and I think that being more artsy at a distinctly un-artsy school is helpful. You don’t seem to have any art, but I think you make up for it in a big way. I’m not an admissions officer but your numbers are really good, and you’ve had awards and leadership stuff, so I think it is very likely that you would be accepted.
