Chance me for Upenn-Upenn Bio-Dental program (2024)

Hi! I’m a senior applying to the 7-year dental program: Upenn CAS/Upenn dental. I heard that it’s a tough program to get into. But I’m giving a shot anyways. Would I stand a chance?

SAT II: 800 Math II, 790 Chemistry
Unweighted GPA (out of 5.0): 5.0

Essays: Essay about my personality of trying new things, (supplements are in progress)
Teacher Recommendation: one from my cal, stat teacher another from my bio teacher
Counselor Rec: Counselor likes me a lot. (if that helps)

Other

State (if domestic applicant): international
Country (if international applicant): South Korea
School Type: Private high school
Ethnicity: Asian (Korean)
Gender: Male
Income Bracket: not sure but over average
Hooks (URM, first-generation college, etc.): mom and dad both dentists, massive commitment to dentistry

Strengths: Commitment to dentistry, course load, standardized testing, GPA
Weaknesses: ECs and dental shadowing

General Comments: I’ve been aiming for dental schools since junior high, so I am sure that I won’t digress(?) during the dental programs. Since both of my parents are practicing dentists, I was often exposed to dental settings, which allowed me to develop this dream of mine. As an international applicant, I might be at a disadvantage, but I really want to become a dentist in the US.

P.S. I’d like to know if anyone else is applying for the program

so cool!
