<p>Hello, I am currently a junior at an IB school. My school is fairly competitive (ranked 5th in state and is also part of the most competitive school county in the nation). My ethnicity is Korean (sadly) and I am interested in applying to UVA, Georgetown, Boston College, Wellesley College, William and Mary, University of Chicago, Duke, and a couple of Ivies (Brown, Cornell).</p>
<p>I am an IB diploma candidate and am currently taking these courses:
IB Physics
IB English HL
IB Latin II
IB Math SL I
IB History of the Americas (HOTA)
IB Theory of Knowledge (TOK)
orchestra (1st chair viola in the second advanced orchestra)</p>
<p>Next year, I plan on taking these courses:
IB Chemistry HL
IB English HL
IB Latin HL
IB Biology SL
IB Math SL II
IB Geography SL
orchestra
OR
replace orchestra with AP Calculus BC</p>
<p>My extracurricular:
-Key Club (officer)
-Science Olympiad
-Science Honor Society
-Medical Society
-Latin Club/Latin Honor Society
-volunteer at Government Training Center (it's a facility that houses disabled elders)
-intern at USKAF (a nonprofit organization partnered with the Smithsonian National Museum... I basically give tours to people around the Natural Science Museum)
-volunteer at Georgetown University hospital</p>
<p>Awards:
-Science Olympiad 4th in disease detectives regionals
-3rd place science fair district
-1st place science fair district
-many many All A awards
-high academic achievement awards
-Presidential volunteer award
-Presidential academic award</p>
<p>Scores:
GPA: 4.0 (unweighted)
PSAT: 212
SAT: 2140 (this is my first attempt. I am going to retake it in May and am aiming for 2300)
SAT Latin: I haven't taken it yet but I am aiming for 750+
SAT Math 2: ^ ^ ^ but aiming for 800
SAT Physics: ^ ^ ^ but aiming for 780+
AP: Comparative Government 4</p>
<p>So I know my EC and awards are not very impressive :-/
and that my SAT scores are mostly hypothetical.
But if I achieve my scores, what are my chances to these schools?
Would it be too much of a reach for me to apply to Ivies?
