Chance me for: William and Mary, Swarthmore, Georgetown, Emory, Case and Boston U (my reach schools)

These are my reach schools so keep that in mind. I don’t want to hear anything about the cost of schools unless it is about my likelihood of getting academic aid.

Here’s my stats/ ec’s, let me know if I forgot anything or if you want more info. I go to a fairly competitive high school.

Other Awards include Honor Roll all four years and AP Scholar with honor. I am on track to earn the ‘scholar’ distinction at my school and will have completed the Enviro. Science pathway and the Law pathway at my school.

W&M would be a reach/low reach (OOS acceptance rate = 31%), but check your Naviance.
Swarthmore - very high reach
Georgetown - very high reach
Emory - very high reach
Case - reach/low reach
Boston U - high reach

For W&M and Case, your ACT is at the bottom of the mid 50%, but your GPA is higher than average, and their acceptance rates are 31% and 27%, respectively. For the other four, your ACT fall in their bottom 25%.

Why don’t you look at some of the many top-notch Liberal Arts Colleges which are test-optional? On that topic, is your weighted GPA low, relative to your unweighted GPA because of how your school weights grades? If your UW GPA with a challenging course load is 3.95, I think that you should think about test-optional colleges like Bowdoin or Colorado College as reaches.

This is very helpful, thank you : )
In terms of Bowdoin, I just did some research and the average ACT is 31, so since that is mine wouldn’t I want to submit it?
And to answer your question about my GPA, my school does not weight honor courses only AP courses, so instead of being 4 points if you get an A in an AP class you get 5 points for that class if that makes sense. I have gotten one B during high school and the rest of A’s. I have only taken 5 AP’s including this year. I would have loved to have taken more but my parents wouldn’t allow it.

You can submit it, but it’s considered, not required. However, if you look at Bowdoin’s 2019 common data set, their mid 50% is 32-35, so your ACTs are in their bottom 25%. On the other hand, your GPA is pretty high, and that is more important for them.

Of course, with an acceptance rate of <10%, Bowdoin is a reach for anybody…

Understandable.
