Applying from top Manhattan Day School
I do not need financial aid
91% SSAT
currently in 9th grade but want to reclassify – so applying for 9th
3 season athlete
Investment Club, Model UN, NOLS
My grades - Middle School mostly Bs, B+
9th grade (unofficial), 2 Cs, 2Bs, 1A (very tough grading system- a B is like an A at an easier private school)
What are your grades for 7th and 8th and any other ECs? Does your school rank + what about the essays, recommendations, and interviews.
My grades for 7th and 8th are a combination of As and Bs, one C+ in in honors Latin. My school does not rank, but it’s known as one of the toughest in the country. I’m head of the investment club, have won Model UN awards, NOLS alumni. Great recs, I think my essays are strong, I believe I interview well, i still have interviews left (L’ville, Hotchkis, Taft and Deerfield) as I decided to apply to boarding school only in the last month. Again, 3 season athlete, 91% SSAT. I did a Taft summer program and got all As summer after 7th grade. I’m hoping that my desire to reclassify grades will place less emphasis on my lousy 9th grade record.
Hi i was wondering if someone could help me and tell me if a 37 is extremely low for NMH? I don’t know how bad a 37 is because I just recived my scores earlier today.
Don’t ask questions on other threads. Ask them on your own thread.
I don’t mind if you ask. I’m hoping for NMH for 9th grade and my SSATs are 91%. I think 37% is pretty low but I hate to sound discouraging. Did you discuss with the school? I don’t test scores don’t predict everything but you may want to think about where you will fit in the best academically so you can continue to get great grades and continue all your fantastic activities.
