Chance me if you're procrastinating! I chance back!

Helloooo all!

Schools:
Cornell, Georgetown, Amherst, Wesleyan, Wash U

Interested majors: Anthropology, IR, Political Science but mostly undecided

SAT: 2170/2400, 1440/1600
GPA (as of end of sophomore year): 90.15 UW, probably around 92.6 W. Guessing by end of junior year I'll have 91-something UW.

Junior courseload:
AP Chem, AP US History, Pre-calc, Honors Physics, Honors English, Spanish 4, and an art class
Probable senior courseload:
AP Gov, AP Psych, AP Environmental, AP Physics, AP English, Calc, AP Stat

Extracurriculars:
-VP of Model UN, won several Best Delegate awards
-VP of Military History club
-VP of Young Democrats club
-Class treasurer in Student Government
-Secretary of STAND
-Layout editor of literary magazine
-Forensic speech
-National honors society (lol)
*All of these clubs I have been involved with since freshmen year
-Girl Scout for 10 years, earned bronze and gold award (think Boy Scouts Eagle Award)
-School representative on Congressional Youth Assembly
-Student representative and organizer of a new program that my principal proposed

Volunteer activity:
-100+ hours of community service, started a project over the summer with organizing historic orphan files at a now adult care center

Plans for the summer: hopefully I'll get accepted to be a clerical intern with the US State Dept

Self assessment: My GPA is weak, but that's because I never took any grade inflating classes like band, orchestra, or chorus. I have friends with the same grades as me in core classes yet take all three and have a GPA that's 2-3 points above mine. I regret it, but it's too late now. I also don't participate in sports, but I think my academic ECs will overshadow that...

Thanks for chancing and link me so I can chance back :D

That GPA is definitely low for Georgetown, Cornell and Washington, but your test scores and EC’s look really good. I don’t know much about the other schools, but you definitely have good stats. although participating in a sport might have added another level of well-roundedness to your other accolades, it probably isn’t much of a big deal. I’d say Cornell is a high reach, G-Town is a reach and Washington is a low to mid reach. But those are just those schools, I’d definitely look into some other great schools

According to Naviance, the average GPA of kids from my school who are accepted to Cornell is 92.6 UW, Georgetown 93.5 and WUSTL 94. Tough, I know but I’ll probably-most definitely apply ED to Cornell so that’ll hopefully boost my chances!

Well, there you go, that’s definitely some good news. I just know a lot about Georgetown because my mom went there, but Cornell is an Ivy so i figured it would be more difficult to get into. good luck!

Haha yeah, at my school, only the top students apply to WUSTL so the stats are a bit exaggerated. Ironically, the average for Amherst is only an 84 because of a recruited athlete whose GPA pulled it down… dramatically.
