Hi there! First of all thanks for taking a look. Compared to most of the credentials I see on these threads, I definitely feel like a VERY underwhelming student, but that doesn't stop me about being slightly paranoid about college acceptances. :) So here goes...

Background: I'm a rising high school senior at one of the top 250 public high schools in the USA. I've been raised by a single mother for the past seven years because my father passed away when I was 10. Unfortunately I had a terrible freshman year which has definitely had a negative impact on my GPA, but it has been steadily trending upward ever since. I went from a 2.8 UW GPA/3.2 W GPA my freshman year to a 3.8 UW/4.2 W GPA both semesters of my junior year. I'm looking to major in secondary education, or at least get teaching certificates in either Biology and/or English.
