Hey Coolio, whats your name?

deeksha...whats urs?

2 kids got into cornell from westfield in 2006 (1 was homeschooled)...i dunno about last year

yea...but their GPA was like a 4.0 or something and i definetely dont have a 4.0 GPA...but im hoping that with good essays and recs i might have a chance....r u from VA too?

yeah, i graduated from there haha. i came back to CC after a year to look at some frats and stuff cause we're rushing.

I def. did not have a 4.0 gpa.....i had 3.3 freshman year, 4.0 sophomore year, 3.9 junior year, and a WHOPPING 2.6 senior year....and i still got in

and as much as it seems, westfield as a school isn't really that competitive. despite our 2 state football championships, and the 50 AP classes, it isnt much of a feeder public school, as compared to other schools in our county. So I'm pretty sure you have a chance. In 2006, we had 36 UVAs, 2 Northwesterns, 1 Carnegie Mellon, 1 Boston Univ, 1 NYU, 1 Rice, and 1 Cornell and that was pretty much it. I said 2 Cornell before, but one girl was homeschooled (and took like 2 classes at Westfield) so she didn't really count. Everyone was ****ed off cause there wasn't any top 10 schools even though we had a graduating class of 680, with 704 seniors in all.

Im pretty sure you have a chance, because it def. ISNT about GPAs. I remember tons of kids got 4.0 and 3.7 honor rolls, but they never made it into the Ivies. And the kid that got Carnegie Mellon was really smart, but they he necessarily have the max. GPA.

If you wanna compare your scores with people from last year, go on that family connections thing on blackboard? It lets you compare yourself on a graph plotting your SAT scores versus GPA with everyone that applied last year from your school. Which doesn't really take everything into account, but you can at least take a look at that if you're curious as to how you stack up purely numberswise.

yea...but the famly connections thing only gives you the avg GPA of people who applied not people who got in(at least thats what my counselor said). It said for Cornell that the GPA was 3.84 and the SAT score was 2000 but when i asked my counselor she said the people that got in had a 2200 with close to a 4.0 GPA..... but then again my counselor hates me and probably made that up to ruin my life........:) Thanks for the advice tho.... its really helpful and it took some of the pressure off of me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The main page or whatever will give you general stats, but if you look at the scattergrams it gives a scatterplot of gpa versus sat scores and has each person that applied plotted out, with all of them labeled with who was accepted, rejected, waitlisted and eventually accepted, or waitlisted and eventually rejected. Its really useful :D Haha and yeah counselors just tend to suck on the whole.. or mine does anyway. I learned not to listen to him about basically anything unless I saw concrete evidence in support of him.

r u KIDDING me!!????!!!???? BAD scores????

come on! so nice!

aw....thankx!!!!!

yea.. ill try to go on family connections again... i cant wait till i apply tho...so EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (and nervewrecking...but w/e)...good luck to everyone tomm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i hope u all get in :)

near 4.0 and 2200? you def don't need that to get in..i'd say 3.8 2100 quite coincidently is a safe bet if you match the school or if your just good at life

god peeksha!!!! your SUCH a nerd HAHA ;) i thought you said CAREER234 not COOLIO ...........lol.........................................................................................................................................................................im still laughing............................................................................................................... anywaaaays come by to yrbk for lunch cos im coming to school at like 12:30 ;) for yrbk.....................................................btw you should add red cross

excuse me, but i don't recall asking for your opinion on this.

bad scores? oh please..that's not bad at all, it's great

Hey I'm another Westfieldian applying to Cornell -- regular decision though

haha, I go to Robinson too, but I'm only a sophomore :]
