University of Pittsburgh, Arts and Sciences
University of Delaware, Arts and Sciences

Drexel University, Arts and Sciences
Binghamton University, Harpur School of Arts and Sciences
If there are more schools you would recommend, it would be good too!
Top 50 is meaningless unless you add the denominator. Also whether you are in state or OOS makes a difference. Being OOS give you an edge if you are applying to SUNY.
They appear desperate to get any OOS. It isn’t the kind of university system that attracts students from all over the country. In contrast, for the better schools, being OOS can lower your chances. States with better university systems can attract students from all over the country so they are not desperate. If you want to attend one of those, you might be at a disadvantage. . Pitt, Rutgers, Penn State are all excellent public schools that do attract national applicants so those might require higher scores for OOS than for instate. Bryant and Drexel are both private-don’t think state status makes a huge difference. I’d think Binghamton, Bryand and Drexel would be safeties for you. What do you mean when you say you won’t be sending scores til accepted??? Bryant isn’t well known either.
@lostaccount I am top 50 percent of my high school if you want to know what I mean. Pitt is actually a quasi-government funded school so it is funded by both alumni, several organizations, and the state government. Plus my school does not provide ranking due to the fact it offers weighted GPA. I am in fact an OOS student from one of the competitive schools in NJ. All I wanted was someone to chance me, not an explanation. I understand that you currently might be a top notch student in either high school or college, but I have done my homework as well. And about AP scores, I wouldn’t want to hurt myself sending the scores when I apply, I’d rather wait and send them once I know where I am going and the classes I will be taking, so I can skip them with the earned credits. And I do not think it matters whether Bryant is well known or not. College is what I make of it, not what others make of it.
My comment regarding your being in the top 50 mean that one needs to know how many are in the class to make that meaningful. top 50 out of 52 is very different from top 50 out of 100, for example. I did not know what you meant when you said you were not sending the scores because I did not know which scores you were referring to. I’m not a student, by the way.
@lostaccount I understand what u say. And the scores I am referring to are my AP scores. I got the ranking stat from my vice principal. My school doesn’t really rank, however students are put into classes based on numbers and rigor of course schedule.
If you get around 1900-2000 on the SAT (don’t bother taking both SAT and ACT, pick one) or 30-32 on the SAT, you are a match at Rutgers. Your GPA is very low, but being on the upper end of the other score range can help you. If you really have good ECs, then that should more than make up for it. I think Penn State is also a high match for you, same with Pitt and UDelaware. I consider them a tad bit more difficult to get into than Rutgers, but by a marginal amount.
Drexel is a low match; your ACT scores fall way above average even without retake. It could even be a safety, but your low GPA makes it a low match. You’re a match for Binghamton too; your stats fall into the range, GPA is on very low end though. Try bumping up your GPA first semester senior year, and it will increase your chances a ton because in my opinion, your GPA is what is your main weakness.
@LushLillies I am actually a NJ student, so Rutgers will take me first priority from what I’ve heard. And about GPA, yeah i know. Looking at your posts (I was curious of seeing what type of student you are) you are no more than a freshman in high school, so you still have a long way to go. My advice is that you wait before chancing people and leave it to those who are experienced. But that’s just my opinion.
Well, what you say makes sense of course. I just like to answer chance me threads; they mean nothing. Just because I am not applying for colleges does not mean I don’t research college freshman statistics or know anything about majors and programs and certain colleges. If you actually believe chance me threads can accurately predict anything, you are pretty wrong. All I did was research average stats, look at results threads, and base on people who I know who have been accepted into college. Nothing to do with what year I am in.
