A few questions:
Is your HS Jesuit?
What is a “secondary” legacy? (grandparent?)
What is your WGPA?

Holy Cross ED has acceptance rate around 75% and your test score is just below their 50%. I’d say you have a good chance at HC.

I know a bit about UMass, Syracuse, and Trinity.

Trinity has similar acceptance stats as HC, but since not ED, maybe lower chances.

UMass you’re about 50% but OOS. At least Econ isn’t their hardest major to get in to. Decent shot.

Syracuse I assume you’re applying to Maxwell? I don’t know their acceptance rate but in general Syracuse has lower stats than the schools above but their acceptance rate plummeted last year so it’s anyones guess what will happen there.

My S23 also applied to HC (RD) and UMass (EA) and D23 applied to Syracuse/Newhouse (RD). Good luck to you. The waiting game is awful.

Hi, Thanks for the response. As for your questions:

My high school is not Jesuit but has in the past had a great relationship with most of the schools above especially Holy Cross

Yes, my grandfather attended holy cross and 4 of my cousins so i made sure to list that on the common app.

My school unfortunately doesn’t do weighted gpa but according to gpa calculator websites it would be a 4.3 W.

Thanks again and good luck to your son and daughter! Hope all turns out well,

In support of your choices, Lafayette, Holy Cross and Trinity appear in this analysis of economics departments: Economics rankings: US Economics Departments at Liberal Arts Colleges | IDEAS/RePEc.

Best of luck with your results.

I’m a UConn alum - I am pretty sure you’ll get into UConn. I think Fairfield is a pretty good shot, too.

Good luck!

Penn State probably a reach. In prior years your GPA would be in the lower quarter for main campus and GPA was weighted more than SAT.

Your SAT would probably be OK. I think admissions has changed their process this year so not sure if the same rules apply.
